Psycho
One of my first proper photoshop projects, the Psycho Movie Poster was aimed at developing my image manipulation skills, and learning how to use textures and layer styles to deepen visual impact.
The composition features the infamous Bates house, with the faint and almost hidden face of the killer superimposed above it. At first glance, the image reads as a simple house on a hill. On closer inspection, the unsettling stare of the psycho emerges, echoing the film itself. Just as Hitchcock builds tension through concealment and revelation, the poster hides its horror in plain sight, only revealing its true weight once you really look.
